Advanced: On-page deep dive — Part 2

Google found your site. Part 3: make pages clear, useful, and rank-worthyon-page SEO you can do in Wix or WordPress without coding.

Golden rule

Write for people first; structure for Google second.

Title & meta description

  • Title: ~50–60 chars, unique per page, main keyword + brand/location
  • Meta description: ~150 chars, benefit + call to action (affects CTR, not direct ranking)

Headings

  • One H1 per page (main topic)
  • H2 for major sections, H3 for details
  • Logical hierarchy — do not skip levels for styling

URLs, images, content

  • URLs: short, readable slugs (/services/logo-design)
  • Images: descriptive alt text + compressed files
  • Content: answer real customer questions; service pages ≥ 300–500 words; guides often ≥ 800 words
  • Internal links: connect related pages with descriptive anchor text

Mobile & speed

Most searches are mobile. Google uses mobile-first indexing.

Check with PageSpeed Insights. Fix images first, then remove heavy widgets.

Details: Core Web Vitals.

Per-page checklist

  • Unique title with keyword
  • Meta description
  • One clear H1
  • Alt text on images
  • 2+ internal links
  • Readable on mobile
  • PageSpeed Mobile ≥ 50 (≥ 80 is better)

Frequently asked questions

What is on-page SEO?

Optimizing elements ON your pages: titles, descriptions, headings, content, images, and internal links so Google and users understand each page.

Should I repeat keywords many times?

No. Write naturally. Main keyword in title, H1, and a few times in body is enough with quality content.
